    PLEASE PARTNER WITH US!!!

Chabad of South Broward's CHAI Assistance Program, with some generous assistance from the Jewish Federation of Broward County, provides critical financial assistance to Broward Jewish residents in crisis, to assist with rent or mortgage (preventing community members from losing their homes), utilities (to prevent shutoffs), food, and other needs. We also provide direct assistance to desperate community members by assisting them to locate and secure housing. We search for appropriate affordable apartments, meet with landlords, help with security deposits and first month's rent, and assist in physically getting our neediest community members into apartments. We even help our poorest community members furnish their new housing through collaborations with local thrift shops and similar resources. CHAI staff also assists with online applications for food stamps, social security, Medicaid, and health insurance etc., as well as identifying any other valuable resources for our clients.

Considering the above it should be noted that we are a unique program going beyond just allocating funds, we make sure that the client is completely moved and settled in a secure position.

We actively collaborate with Goodman Jewish Family Services, Meals on Wheels, We Are One, local grocery stores, pharmacists, and thrift shops. Our vast array of unique services complements our collaborative efforts with other agencies.

Chabad of South Broward was the first and founding Chabad Center in Broward County back 1980. We have been delivering vital services to seniors and families since our inception, but the need has ballooned due to the COVID-19 epidemic and high inflation. No other Jewish agency doing this vital work is located near us, and we are determined to meet the needs of the many Jewish community members who find it difficult to access services in other parts of the county due to lack transportation or computer skills.
